Twenty-five years on the right side of the “v.”
A Chicago trial firm for the seriously injured and the families negligence leaves behind — against the corporations and insurers responsible.
In 1998, Eleanor Ashford and Marcus Stone left big-firm practice to build something rare: a trial firm that would actually try cases.
They had spent years on the defense side, watching insurers and corporations exploit the simple fact that most plaintiff firms never set foot in a courtroom. They founded Ashford & Stone to be the exception — and built a record that makes the other side take notice.
A quarter-century later, we have recovered more than half a billion dollars for injured people and grieving families across Illinois and the Midwest — most of it from defendants who insisted, until the courthouse steps, that they owed nothing.

Three principles, unchanged since 1998.
Selective
We take fewer cases than we could, so that every client gets a partner’s full attention and we can try the case if we must.
Relentless
We out-prepare and out-work the defense. When a corporation has unlimited resources, our answer is unlimited diligence.
Human
Behind every file is a person whose life changed in an instant. We never forget that the case is, first, a person.
A record built one verdict at a time.
